I love m'y Crosstrek and have had almost zero problems. Intermittently over the years the key wouldn't come out when I got to park and I would have to reshift and then it would come out. It always stopped though so I didn't do anything about it. Currently it is happening a lot! To the point that it might take 5 to 10 minutes to get it out.I found another temporary "SOLUTION"!! As described on page 7-22 (at least in the 2013 Impreza/Crosstrek manual), under the heading "Shift lock release using the shift lock release button", instructs you on how to remove the cap for the Shift Lock Release Button. All I did is remove the cap and the key removes 100% of the time so far!!
