I've noticed that t-mobile is restricting hotspot video streams from netflix/youtube (and a few others) to 1.6/1.7Mbps. I got these results by testing on fast.com and checking out youtube stream data. My hotpsot connection is typically 20-40 down ... T-Mobile explanation for slow speeds. There are 2 reasons for this. 1.This is due to the very narrow spectrum assigned to 5G (using only band 2 (1900mhz) and 5 (850mhz) ) and C Band (3.5-4Ghz not wildly available) Note: after 3G shutdown Band 5 will be available for 5G, and will improve coverage greatly as Band 5 is low band and will penetrate buildings. 2. ….
