The small block Chevrolet engine has components that interchange readily among different versions and displacements. One combination is to install a 350ci engine crankshaft in a 400ci engine block, which is overbored .030 inch. The 400ci bore (now 4.155 inches) and the 350 stroke (3.48 inches) yields a displacement of 377ci.It doesn’t matter if your LS is a Gen 3 or a Gen 4. It doesn’t matter if it is cast iron or aluminum. Also, don't plan on off the shelf pistons for any stroke over 4.250. you can make a 598 4.600 bore 4.500 stroke in a short deck block, 582 pistons are not custom order from everything I've used.
