The Duel is a book about the similar lives of Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton. Both Alexander and Aaron were orphans and rose up from their unfortunate early positions. They both became lawyers and were both involved in politics. Aaron Burr eventually ran for President of the United States against Thomas Jefferson.
