Posted December 11, 2020. Started in carry optics a few months ago and used a dovetail mount from EGW to mount a Holosun on my Shadow 2. The idea was that I was going to try a red dot for a few months and see if I liked it (I do). And then, get the slide cut for the optic. I have both. The plate system is the way to go. CZC has milled all of my pistols. The way they mill the plate system it is almost as deep as the milled into the slide dots. CZC uses locating posts so you don't have to worry about the screws sheering.
That was a good suggestion. Egwguns.com has similar dovetail plates for variety of guns. Have one for my PPQ and a friend bought one for his Shadow 2. About $50 USD.
