Ford 6600 tractor problems
1980 Ford 6600 - Couple of problems. New to the forum, so hopefully this is in the right place. First problem. Ford 6600 leaks hydraulic fluid at the base of the steering column/plate. I read somewhere that this is a common problem and resolved with an O-ring.The 6000 I have has been a very good tractor. Yes the pump was juiced up, and it does have a nicer seat than the factory. I did install hydrostatic steering, but over all it is one stronger puller. Comfortable to drive and very quiet. The brakes are very excellent, as good as my 4020 of the same age.

Jul 20, 2015 · My Ford 6600 is used for cutting and baling hay. I was cutting yesterday and took a five minute break and when I got back in the tractor, the PTO did not want to engage. It finally did, but it seemed balky. Once engaged, it worked perfectly. Is this an adjustment problem in the lever or could it be a sign of something more serious? If the hitch isn't working, the flow from the rear pump isn't reaching the lift cylinder. It's a matter of figuring out why. If the tractor has a trailer brake valve, that is part of the flow chart.
