As soon as the filter sock on the bottom of the pump gets completely full, fuel flow gets decreased, causing higher amperage draw on the pump trying to get the fuel flow needed to supply the engine, eventually burning it up. Last time it did it from sitting with no fuel, it corrected itself after a tank of fuel. I'm guessing it had aome buildup on the level aenaor.
