The laundry list of problems above in a mere 3yrs and 25k miles says it all. I chose the Elantra over competitors specifically for its mechanical simplicity.NOTE: 1.) do this when the engine is cold -a hot block can ignite fluid. 2.) Use the starter fluid sparingly -too much will not completely evaporate as the engine gets hot. 3.) Be careful around electrical connectors, especially the spark plugs -electrical leakage may cause a spark, setting everything on fire.If I idle with ac or heat on the rpms drop down and the cars shakes. The rpms also drop when I use power windows while idling. There is a loud chirping noise coming from around the pulleys. (especially when cold) When starting (even with warm motor) the rpms will go up to 2100rpm for about 5-10 seconds. Power steering is really loud when cold.
