Kawasaki vulcan 1500 starting problems
2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic. 13,600 Miles. Couple weeks ago I tried to start it and nothing. Turned key on and off moved start switch on and off a few times then it finally started. Haven't had any problems until today. 1st time I heard clicking like the battery is low. Messed with switches and it started.2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 ClassicNot starting or even trying to turn over. I hear one very subtle click noise when I try to start but nothing else.I noticed that my handlebars needed to be tightened down and I decided to remove the headlight to get it out of my way when tightening handlebars and let it hang off to the side.

My bike is taking longer than usual to start. I hear the fuel pump pressurizing and when I press the start button, nothing for a few seconds. then the FI light starts flashing.The petcock is putting fuel into the pump. but the pump will not pump when cranking the engine over. I did notice that sometimes when turning the ignition switch off it would quick make a single tap noise and spray a stream of gas out of the pump. The pump was working prior to removing the carbs. the motorcycle will run with gas fed by hand to ...It is better to troubleshoot a problem like this rather than just pulling things apart for fear of introducing another problem, and then the real tail chasing begins. ...
