Apr 6, 2019 · Softest shooting 12 gauge made. Yep, it's on my want list. Well, I've not shot the 1301, but the versa max shoots like a kitten. It's got an awesome gas system and some weight behind it. V3 is essentially the same gas system in a lighter gun. I had a V3 cut down to 18.5" and that thing is friggin quick. I still don't see a lot of 1301s. They didn't really do a much better job with their ready out-of-the box gun than Benelli. The 1301 still needs the same work as most factory shotguns. I think the 1301 is a great shotgun, it just isn't as ready to race as advertised. ….
