Marlin discontinued the Glenfield line in '83 but continued to produce most models as Marlins. If yours is a Marlin 25N, it is newer. The older 25s will require some modification to fit the aftermarket stocks.The SSV's often benifit from a barrel floating and/or action bedding. The lami stocks are much stiffer and well worth the $60-$70 for looks and consistant performance. ( Be sure to ask for longer action screws as the ones with you synthetic stock are too short.

Good deal!! Reminds me of my old 783 magnum. Beautiful walnut and gold plated trigger back then. Mine was tube fed also. Those nice touches like walnut and gold triggers tough to come by and expensive these days. Mine was stolen so eventually replaced with a Marlin 925M and the Ruger American compact. Install was about a 15 min jop. Trigger set at 1.8 lbs on trigger scale. Had to play around with sear engagement a bit to get rid of creep. Nice light crisp trigger after install complete. Dropped gun on butt stock on floor a few times no issues. Very impressed with upgrade.
