yeah you could just max a main and then train a 1 def pure! it's definitely the meta. I think the best way to experience all aspects of pvp in OSRS is to pk in multi on your main with a clan, and then pk in singles or small man multi trips on a 1 defense pure. I wrote a guide on how to quickly and easily make a 1 defense pure if you're interested.Defense in f2p pking isn't all that great to have since it's going to get your cb lvl higher then it would be if you had 40 ranged and 1 defense since all the pures will have higher combat stats then you. P2p on the other hand a tank would be good for but basically at higher combat lvl. (85+ ranged and maybe 40 Def would be good to start pking) 1.I was a range tank. 75 def, 99 range, 96 mage, 70 prayer (was waiting until rigour dropped to 50-60m to buy it). You're running away from melee minion and Bandos. Typically for mage method you wouldn't bring so many stams if any. You pray range with mage gear as well, your mage level and such do a really good job protecting you.
