This allows more compact concealed carry oriented pistols to gain the benefits of a Red Dot optic vs traditional iron sights. The only problem I have with the sentinel is the adjustments do not have a click. That might not be a problem for most but I personally like the clicks when sighting in my red dots. OP's specs for the Sentinel indicated ARMS mounting, an obvious typo. The M&P 5.7 (as well as the other M&P 2.0 series with optic cuts) also has the RMSc optic cut. So, the Sentinel fit my 5.7 with no adapter.
