Jan 13, 2016 · 2. Location. New Smyrna Beach, FL. Tractor. Ford 8N. I have a 1950 Ford 8N. The three point hitch seems to have some problems. First off, I have changed the oil several times, but it becomes whitish like it has bubbles or something within a very short time (a day or so). Secondly, the lift arms have started to travel only halfway up. If you can get the lift to come down by standing on it, It may simply be a matter of stiffness due the the new rebuild you've done. Put an implement on it and see how it behaves. Normally, a sticky exhaust valve would be the culprit, but since you've installed a new pump, you've probably checked it out already?
